Similarities between Lasko 5586  and Lasko 5538

Controls

I found it relatively easy to use and set the temperature on both of these heaters through their digital controls.

Thermostat

The Lasko 5586 and the Lasko 5538 come with an adjustable thermostat setting as well as a remote control, making it easier to navigate through and customize the temperature according to my wishes.

Timer

While this feature is not available on other tower heaters, both of these devices come with a timer that also has adjustable settings. I could set the timer at one-hour intervals for up to eight hours, which was immensely convenient. This feature ensured that I did not end up waking up in the middle of the night in an icy cold bedroom.

Speed Settings

I found that yet another similarity between the Lasko 5586 and the Lasko 5538 had been the fan’s speed settings, wherein I could only switch between two speeds- high and low.

Oscillation

Widespread oscillation was carried out with the help of both of these heaters. This was an excellent way of properly ventilating the room with heated air in all parts, instead of just the general direction where the air is being blown.

Power

A maximum heating power of 1500 watts is utilized by both the Lasko 5586 and the Lasko 5538. This is roughly enough power to heat a two-car garage and works well enough for chilly weather to warm up a room. However, I would not recommend depending solely on these devices amid winter.

Batteries

Batteries are required to power up both of these heaters, and 2AAA batteries are required to get them functioning correctly.

Heating Method

Physics and convection are utilized by these two heaters so that hot air moves into colder regions, which is an excellent way of making sure that there are no cold or empty spots left in the room.
