Differences between Yaber Y30 and Yaber Y31
The most significant differences between these projectors are that the Yaber Y31 has a higher contrast ratio of 10000: 1 compared to the contrast ratio of 8000: 1 that the Yaber Y30 has. Also, the Yaber Y31 has a projected image range of 50 inches to about 300 inches, while the Yaber Y30 has a smaller projected image that range from 45 inches to 200 inches.
All the differences between the Yaber Y30 and Yaber Y31 projectors are explained in detail below, you will also see which of these two projectors is better in certain aspects and functionalities.
Picture and Video Quality
The picture and video quality are paramount in any projector you intend to use for your home entertainment system. Let’s see how these projectors fare against each other.
Aside from its native resolution and 4K support, there are other factors that affect the picture and video quality of the Y30 such as the contrast ratio. It has a lower contrast ratio of 8000:1 compared to the Y31. Again, this is still impressive knowing that most monitors have a contrast ratio of only 1000:1. Its contrast ratio, plus its innovative high-refraction 5 layers glassed lens, allows you to have the best viewing experience.
On the other hand, Yaber Y31 has a higher contrast ratio of 10000:1. Therefore, the blacks of the videos remain darker and colors pop out giving you a better movie experience. Moreover, Y31 has a one-click brighten button that you can use when the room has an ambient light. This button will crank the brightness up to its peak brightness.
The Winner Is- Yaber Y31
Projected Screen Size
Every projector has its own projected screen size. Its range varies from the distance where you put it. The closer the projector is to the wall, the smaller the image is and vice versa.
The Yaber Y30 has unfortunately smaller image output. The projected image of the Y30 ranges from 45 inches to 200 inches. Don’t get me wrong, 200 inches is still no match when you compare it to modern flatscreen televisions. Although it has a reduced projected screen size, it has better zooming capabilities. You can reduce the projected image up to half its size (-50%).
If you have a larger wall to project an image to, you will be happy to know that Yaber Y31 has a larger projected screen size. It ranges from 50 inches to about 300 inches! That is indeed large, and it will let you feel like you are in a real theater. Its keystone correction is also more advance than the Y30 because it has one-click restore and automatic adjustments.
The Winner Is- Yaber Y31
Audio is another component of the audio-visual experience. A terrible audio experience will ruin the entire audio-visual experience.
Yaber did not fail to put decent Hi-Fi speakers in both projectors. The Yaber Y30 has dual 3W stereo speakers which are not bad considering how tiny the Yaber Y30 is. Both also have the sound retrieval system or SRS technology which will enhance the audio quality of the speakers.
The Yaber Y31 has a better audio system than the Y30 due to its dual 3W stereo speakers. Not only will it be louder, but it will also sound crisper and more detailed on top of the enhancements the SRS technology gives. Moreover, it has support for Dolby Digital. Surround sound quality is possible with this technology. Therefore, you will feel more like you are inside the movie you are watching.
The Winner Is- Yaber Y31
Similarities between the Yaber Y30 and Yaber Y31
4K Resolution Support
The Yaber Y30 and Y31 have a native resolution of 1080p or 1920 x 1080 pixels. That alone is impressive enough considering that there are projectors in the market that only supports 720p or 480p video outputs. What sets these projectors apart from its competitors is its support for 4K resolution content. Therefore, you can enjoy more detailed and higher quality content from your home entertainment system. Note that you can only take advantage of the 4K resolution when you connect both projectors to a computer.
4D Keystone Correction
Keystone correction is one of the best features of both Yaber projectors. Yaber calls it a 4D keystone correction because you can adjust the image vertically and horizontally. Both have ± 50-degree correction which is impressive considering others only allow 15-degree adjustments.
Peak Brightness and Rated Lamp Life
The peak brightness of a projector affects its rated lamp life. Both Yaber projectors have an identical peak brightness of 7200 Lumens. The average peak brightness of televisions is 350 nits or around 1200 lumens. Projectors need this higher brightness so you can see its image when ambient light is present. However, their 7200-lumen peak brightness is outstanding, nonetheless. Lastly, you can expect 100,000 hours of usage from these projectors. That’s around 11 and a half of continuous usage.
Pros and Cons
- The Yaber Y30 can replace the television in your home theater setup as it can output up to 4K resolution.
- You can place the Y30 beside your couch while still maintaining a perfectly rectangular image due to its 50-degree keystone correction.
- It has better zooming capabilities than the Y31.
- Although its picture quality is respectable, it is inferior compared to the Y31.
- You can take advantage of Yaber Y31’s 4K resolution support with its projected screen size up to 300 inches.
- It has a higher contrast and high brightness picture quality.
- Audio quality is also better due to its additional wattage and Dolby Digital support.
- One thing that the Yaber Y31 lacks to be the perfect projector is wireless connectivity.
Who said building a home theater system is expensive? Sure, sometimes more expensive is better. However, when it comes to comparing televisions and projectors, the former is indeed more expensive to buy. If you are on a budget, you need to take a look at projectors. You can get a theater-like experience when you get a projector since most can stretch up to 300 inches diagonally. This identical size in televisions is otherwise more expensive. In this comparison of the Yaber Y30 and Y31, there is no doubt that the Yaber Y31 is a better projector overall than the Yaber Y30. The difference in price is almost non-existent. This is exactly why it is unreasonable not to get the Yaber Y31 over the Y30.
