Cannabis makeup, beauty, and skin-related products are very much “in” these days given their multiple health benefits. A study carried out reported that individuals who used cannabis-infused oils had a better chance of fighting their acne and achieving smooth, glowing skin as compared to those who did not. So I decided to join in on the cannabis craze and test out a few skin products myself as well.
The Hempz Original and the Hempz Triple Moisture are two types of moisturisers that I decided to test out. The following article is a comparison review of both of these products, glossing over their features, and drawbacks. Similarities between Hempz Original and Hempz Triple Moisture
Design and Weight
These moisturisers have the same design for the bottle, which is a clear and see-through bottle that comes with a built-in pump dispenser. Although they might differ in size, the weight of both of these moisturisers is more or less the same at around 1.06 pounds.
Build and Skin Type
Smooth and creamy, these moisturisers are rich enough to mimic the nature of body butter. They spread evenly and were absorbed into my skin pretty quickly, without leaving any sticky or oily residue. However, I did notice in some drier areas that I had to reapply the Hempz Original moisturiser since it isn’t a heavy-duty moisturiser. Still, they both work well for all skin types and leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated instantly.
The Hempz Original and the Hempz Triple Moisture are paraben, gluten, THC and cruelty-free. This will avoid any sort of irritation or adverse reactions to occur. They are also vegan and are an excellent alternative for customers looking to buy cruelty-free and vegan moisturisers.
Differences between Hempz Original and Hempz Triple Moisture
Let’s see how different the features and ingredients of these Hempz moisturizers creams are. We will also look at how the Original and the Triple Moisture in fragrance differ.
Features and Ingredients
Hempz Original
This moisturizer comprises multiple ingredients, mainly shea butter, hemp seed oil, orange peel extract, ginger root, sunflower seed oil, ginseng extract and lemon peel. These ingredients helped hydrate and nourish my skin thoroughly.
The hemp seed oil from cannabis plants contains extracts and nutrients such as protein and omega fatty acids that protect your skin and retain moisture. Shea butter and sunflower seed oil were great for keeping the natural oils in my skin. Shea butter also has a presence of Vitamin A and E, which further nourishes your skin. Ginseng extract is soothing for the skin and works well as an anti-ageing material.
Hempz Triple Moisture
The Hempz Triple Moisture contains ingredients that lock in moisture for the entire day, such as hemp seed oil, shea butter, pomegranate extract, sunflower seed oil, apple fruit extract, yangu oil, and sweet almond oil extract.
The omega fatty acids and protein present in the hemp seed oils help in locking in and retaining moisture inside your skin. Yangu oil helped reduce inflammation and contained vitamins A and C, which both helped firm up my skin as well as provide nutrients to nourish it. Shea butter contains vitamin E, which further helps in moisturising your skin. Apple extract makes your skin look and feels fresh, whereas cogon grass contains potassium and vitamins necessary for your skin. This long-lasting moisturiser worked amazingly for my dry skin type.
Winner: Both of these moisturizers have their own distinct features, and they both aim to provide moisture and nourishment to your skin. However, the Hempz triple Moisturiser contains more ingredients that are beneficial for your skin.
Fragrance
Hempz Original
This moisturiser has a floral banana fragrance, that smelt more or less like bubblegum. Personally, it was a bit too strong and overpowering, and skin products rich in fragrance are known to be detrimental for your skin.
Hempz Triple Moisture
The Hempz Triple Moisturiser has a light scent of grapefruit and peach.
Winner: The Hempz Triple Moisturiser, as its scent is not too strong and does not result in adverse reactions.
Value for Money
Both of these moisturisers have almost the same price, but the Hempz Triple Moisturiser will give you a better value for money with additional benefits.

Which Hempz Moisturizer is Better?
These moisturisers worked well on my skin and have their own distinctive features and smell. However, the Hempz Triple Moisture is one I can personally vouch for due to its light, non-problematic fragrance as well as paraben-free ingredients that provide health benefits to my skin and nourish it properly
