Handwriting labels are a thing of the past. In our technologically advanced world, there has been an introduction of multiple devices to quickly and efficiently carry out our daily tasks. Label printers or label makers are a convenient device with numerous uses, from labeling stuff at home to printing out barcodes, product labels, and more.
I decided to test out two different label makers for use in my business; the DYMO 450 and the DYMO 450 Turbo. These two devices have been ranked as the best label makers, and users (including myself) get conflicted on which label maker will be best suited for them. The following article will review and compare DYMO LabelWriter 450 vs DYMO LabelWriter 450 Turbo with their pros and cons based on my experience, to give off a raw and real view of what it would be like to use these label printers.

Weight and Batteries
Although these devices differ in size and slightly in design, their weight is the same at 2.2 pounds each. These lightweight label makers can be easily used to put out labels efficiently. Both of these makers require Lithium Polymer batteries.
Printing Resolution and Width
The high-quality printing resolution of 300 x 600 dpi in both of these label makers ensured that my professional labels were of top-notch quality. The printing width was around 2.25 inches, and although it is a bit difficult finding labels that fit perfectly, these work well for product labels, as well as badges and binders.
PC and Mac Connectivity
This feature allowed me to print out customized addresses and barcodes directly from my PC. In fact, I could also print out these labels through software applications such as Microsoft Word.

DYMO 450
The DYMO 450 is available in multi-color devices, and the label maker has dimensions of around 7.25 x 4.87 x 5.75 inches. It is relatively compact and does not require much space, which makes it a great space saver. This material used to make this device is plastic.
DYMO 450 Turbo
This label maker has dimensions of 7.25 x 4.08 x 5.75 inches and is available in 2 shades: black and silver. It is slightly smaller than its competitor device, DYMO 450. This label maker is made out of 2 materials: plastic and metal.
Winner: Although the size of both of these label makers is almost the same, the DYMO 450 Turbo wins this round as it is slightly smaller than the DYMO 450.

The DYMO 450 is pretty fast and quickly churns out 51 labels in a minute. Although this may seem like small footwork, it was decent enough for a small business like mine.
DYMO 450 Turbo
This label maker is quite speedy and can put out an extraordinary amount of 71 labels per minute. This number is quite a hefty amount for a small and compact device.
Winner: The DYMO 450 Turbo, as it can put out more labels in a minute.

DYMO 450
This nifty device utilizes the thermal printing technology, meaning that I did not need ink or toner for the actual printing process. Its software also allowed me to integrate my contacts from my Outlook address book, directly print them from there, and address fix software verified the addresses for my ease. The Quick Print widget feature is an excellent way of forming a singular label and quickly printing it. The File LT software allowed me to turn scanned documents into digital files, and I had over 60 label styles I could choose.
DYMO 450 Turbo
The DYMO 450 Turbo is a quick label printer that uses the thermal printing technology to eliminate the need for toner and ink replacement. A built-in Stamp Software allowed me to print USPS-approved postage labels conveniently. Address Fixer software will verify the address, whereas the Quick Print widget easily and effectively helped me design an print a label in a few minutes. There are 60 layout styles available in this label maker.
Winner: Tie. Both of these label makers have their own distinct and unique features.
Value for Money
DYMO 450 comes with two years’ warranty and is less expensive with more or less the same features. It will give you a better value for money.

Which Dimo Label Printer is Better?
For regular label making, it is better to opt for the DYMO 450 as it is cheaper, has a given warranty period, with more or less the same features as its competitor.
