Similarities between AKASO Brave 4 and Brave 6

4k Capability

At its core, both the AKASO Brave 4 and Brave 6 can capture 20MP photos and 4k videos. They have different camera sensors and processors but the quality you will be getting on both of these action cameras is roughly similar. You can record high-resolution 4k videos at 24 frames per second or a smoother but lower-resolution 1080p videos at 60 frames per second. Lastly, both action cameras have built-in video output via their micro HDMI ports so you can enjoy the memories you captured directly from the action cameras.

Wi-Fi and Image Stabilization

Every gadget these days has Wi-Fi built inside them. That includes both the Brave 4 and Brave 6. Perhaps you are wondering why an action camera needs to have Wi-Fi capabilities. Unfortunately, the AKASO Brave 4 does not have a voice control feature. To take a picture or video, you have to directly press the shutter button on the action camera itself or you can use the 2.4g remote control included out of the box. If you are doing outdoor activities, it is better to use the remote-control strap to place the controller on your wrist like a watch. The maximum range of the remote control is said to be around 10 meters.

AKASO Brave 6

In addition to the 2.4g remote control, you can control the camera using your voice. Example commands you can ask the AKASO Brave 6 are “AKASO Take Photo” and “AKASO Video Start.” Due to this added functionality and flexibility, it makes the AKASO Brave 6 better than the Brave 4.

Zoom Capabilities


AKASO Brave 4

The AKASO Brave 4 has 5 times digital zoom. Digital zooming crops the image or video to zoom in. Unlike optical zoom, digital zoom is not hardware-dependent but rather it is software-based. If you zoom in, you may notice that the photo or video gets blurrier due to this.

AKASO Brave 6

Brave 6 also has a digital zoom but it can punch in 6 times. It has the disadvantages that the Brave 4 does but it can zoom in much closer. In addition to their zoom capabilities, these Brave action cameras have 4 different viewing angles. Both can be as wide as 170 degrees and as narrow as 70 degrees.

Displays

The display on a camera shows you the photos and videos you captured. It tells whether the subject is in the frame or not.

The Brave 4 has a 2” IPS display on the back for viewing captured photos and videos. On top of that, it also has a screen on the front which has many uses. This front display is particularly helpful for vlogging purposes. It tells you the action camera’s battery status and your recording time. 

AKASO Brave 6

In contrast, the AKASO Brave 6 does not have the screen on the front. It has the 2” screen on the rear, however. Both rear screens of the Brave 4 and Brave 6 are not touchscreens, so you have to use the buttons to configure them.
